I’ve been reading old late 80s and early 90s comics lately and it’s absolutely warmed my heart to see girls being advertised in ads like this. I’ve seen girls engaged in sports, tabletop gaming, card collecting, comic book reading, video game playing, all in these ads.
Surely, this was where the current generation of geek girls began.
Dude, ok, I know there’s a girl’s Spider-Man costume with a skirt as well but did they also need to make a pink variant AND a ballerina variant with glowing Spider logo and glitter? REALLY, society? REALLY? REALLY!
I’ve learned something amazing.
Despite popular myth and stereotype, nerdy geek girls are not an endangered species or a rare treasure to be put up on a pedestal.
Those who put up with socially inept idiot male geeks overloaded with hormones are.
Apparently, according to HolyTaco.com, these are the 5 types of girls who went to go see Avengers.
Apparently, Thor Whore is a term. If it is, glass this damn planet. I want out.

How to identify an “ideal” “geek girl.”
Watch this little three year old girl steal your soul with her knowledge of the periodic table of elements!
You know what bothers me? This notion that the geek girl is this rare thing anymore. This is some idea promoted by both guys and girls alike. I know the ratio of girls to guy isn’t the best, but there’s a HELL of a lot of geek girls out there, proud and loud. It’s not such a foreign notion anymore. You’re no longer an endangered species, girls. Be proud and loud.
Why we love Geek Girls
You can always tell the geek girl…
