Once again Team GEEK is raising money to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. We will be taking part in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Norridge/Harwood Heights on August 3-4, 2012. In our efforts to keep fundraising interesting, we are offering several special raffles this year.

When you donate to one of the team members, put a note on the donation relating to the raffle you wanted to be a part of, and make sure there is a way for us to contact you should you win. Drawings will be held in the pre-dawn hours of August 4th, at the Relay. You may also donate to the team itself if you don’t wish to donate to a specific individual.

Fighting Back
As many of you know, the Doctor Who fandom lost Lis Sladen who played Sarah Jane Smith to cancer in the past few days. Only too recently the same fandom lost Nick Courtney, another just as beloved actor. Cancer is a terrible affliction, capable of even robbing us of our heroes and idols. But we can fight back. This year, I’m walking to put an end to cancer, this vile blight on our world.
